Sunday Afternoon Gatherings invite us to step out of our customary routines and identities and into the present moment. Contemplative reflection, silent sitting, walking meditation, chanting and song, as well as simple circle dances combine in different ways to wash away our separation and refresh our sense of well-being. Stepping out of time, we open to a softer, more spacious sense of Being.
The practices and paths to awakening vary by tradition, culture, and era. The common ingredients that cross all boundaries are love, reverence, practice, and faith--faith that there is more to the human story than meets the eye, faith in a sacred story or being, or faith that a greater ground of peace, equanimity, generosity, and love is available to us.
Sunday Afternoon Gatherings are an opportunity to reflect on these paths and on the wisdom that has been handed down from teacher to student, all through time.
Sunday Afternoon Gatherings are facilitated by Betsy Toll.
