In a world facing unprecedented transition and instability, transforming our understanding of what it means to be human, of human purpose and potential, is crucial to our future. The Living Earth Circle workshop provides a framework for integrating contemplative inquiry and inner reflection into our personal lives and our work on local and global issues.

The Circle Workshop incorporates interactive, experiential, and reflective processes, working in pairs, small groups, and as a whole circle. These practices loosen the hold of unexamined assumptions that create conflict, and open up fresh perspectives and understanding. A range of contemplative practices soften our edges and encourage greater compassion and insight to emerge.

Many of our conditioned ideas about the world emphasize separation, duality, divisiveness, and conflict. Unfortunately, our interactions and strategies too often reflect those same qualities, with often disastrous results. To develop cooperative, creative, win-win approaches to engaging, we need to recognize the cultural assumptions and myths that frame our worldview, and explore new concepts and inner terrain that will yield a more authentic truth.

Creating a just, peaceful, and sustainable future for the world's children will require a radical "aikido of the heart" that turns all the challenges, joys, frustrations, fears, hopes, and dreams that arise into our tools of transformation. Wielding these tools, the ideology of separation, duality, and power that threatens our future gives way to emerging models for relationships and systems based on inherent wholeness, interconnection, compassion, and cooperation.
