Living Earth and Yoga Shala are co-sponsoring this showing of the Pangea Day film festival that will be viewed around the world simultaneously. Satellite downloads in seven different languages will occur in Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Kigali, Cairo, and London, and thousands of sites will be watching in more than 180 countries!

The Pangea Day program features 24 short films produced "by the world, for the world" from filmmakers in more than a dozen countries. The films offer a chance to look into the lives and communities of others through the medium of film. Check out the Pangea Day "trailer."

We will have a large screen set up as part of the simultaneous global event. Folks can stop by for a few films or stay to see the whole program. Tea and nibbles will be provided, and we welcome little potluck munchies. The event is free and open to all.

In support of our global family, Living Earth will share information about Seva Foundation's international programs for children, community health, and eyesight restoration. Voluntary donations to support Seva's work is welcome; donations are tax-deductible.

Pangea Day is the brainchild of Jehane Noujaim, an Egyptian-American filmmaker who won the 2006 TED Prize, an annual award granted at the TED Conference, to fulfill her vision. Jehane's wish was to create a day in which the world came together through film, to expand a sense of connection between people in widely differing cultures, economies, and geographic locations. More than 2500 film submissions from more than 100 countries were narrowed down to this amazing selection of 24 films. Satellite downloads in seven different languages will happen in Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Kigali, Cairo, and London, and thousands of sites will be watching in more than 180 countries!
